General Questions

Q. What is "Being Green" or "Being Eco Friendly"?
A. To be "green" or to be "eco-friendly" can mean different things to different people. As a short description, being green (or eco-friendly) means to be aware of the environment, and your actions that effect it. Reducing your energy consumption to benefit the environment would therefore be classed as one example of "being green" or being eco-friendly.

Q. Is it easy being green?
A. By taking steps one at a time, you could be helping the environment a lot quicker than you thought. We have compiled a list of 10 Easy Energy Saving Tips, which should give you some useful ways to help you become more green.

Q. What does "Organic" mean?
A. Organic is a name given to food and crop that has been produced or reared to certain standards. The Soil Association states that these standards include the restriction of using artificial chemical fertilisers and pesticides on crops. Also the use of drugs and antibiotics are strictly forbidden when rearing animals.

Q. Why are organic products more expensive than normal products?
A. "Normal" products that don't use organic farming techniques are usually heavily subsidised by the taxpayer through the government for their use of chemicals. Organic farming receives very little subsidies from the taxpayer, hence why organic food and other organic products are more expensive to purchase. If all farms in the UK were to use organic farming methods, the tax being paid for intensive farming techniques could be greatly reduced.

Q. Is it easy to save energy?
A. By following our 10 Easy Energy Saving Tips, you can help to save energy easily throughout your home. These tips have been compiled to help you save the most amount of energy and money in the least amount of time.

Q. Can I save money by saving energy?
A. The less energy you use throughout your home, the more chance you'll save money on your energy bills. In our 10 Easy Energy Saving Tips, we give a breakdown of the average amount of money saved in each tip.

Q. Are there any charities that help support the environment?
A. WWF, World Land Trust, Friends of the Earth, and Rainforest Alliance are all well know charities that are helping to save the environment. We encourage anyone to donate to any of these helpful charities.

Q. How do I calculate my carbon emissions?
A. Direct Gov provide an easy to use CO2 calculator that helps to calculate your carbon emissions, along with suggestions of how to reduce your carbon footprint.

Energy Saving Blinds

Q. What types of Energy Saving Blinds does Easy Green Store supply?
A. Easy Green Store supplies Energy Saving Roller Blinds which are made by a trusted local company in London.

Q. Who supplies the fabric for your Energy Saving Blinds?
A. One of the most well known UK suppliers of blinds, Louvolite.

Q. What materials are used to make the Energy Saving Blinds?
A. The Energy Saving Blinds are made using only quality materials, such as heavy duty aluminium barrels and sturdy metal brackets.

Q. How much energy do your Energy Saving Blinds save?
A. According to Louvolite's research, the Energy Saving Blinds can save up to 15% of energy. All of our blinds are rated using Louvolite's rating system. 'ER1' is the most energy efficient (saving 15% of energy), followed by 'ER2' (saving 12% of energy), followed by 'ER3' (saving 11% of energy).

Q. Could I get a sample of the fabric used for the Energy Saving Blinds?
A. It is possible to send out samples of blind fabrics, although we suggest you narrow down your fabric options before we ship the samples out. This helps us preserve our stock of sample fabrics, and helps to lower waste.

Q. How do I order Energy Saving Blinds on the Easy Green Store website?
A. You can order your Energy Saving Blinds on our order page. You can order and pay for your blinds very quickly through PayPal or Google checkout.

Q. How much does Easy Green Store charge for delivering my Energy Saving Blind?
A. Easy Green Store offers Free Delivery for any order over £80. Any order under £80 will cost £1.99 to deliver.

Q. Can Easy Green Store come to fit the Energy Saving Blinds?
A. Unfortunately, we do not provide fitting or installation of Energy Saving Blinds, but provide easy to follow fitting instructions (by email and available as PDF) to all customers who order the Energy Saving Blinds. Q. Is it easy to fit an Energy Saving Blind?
A. All of Easy Green Store's Energy Saving Blinds are supplied with easy to follow instructions, sent to you by email to reduce un-necessary paper usage and to reduce waste.

Q. How much light comes through a black out Energy Saving Blind?
A. The Energy Saving black out fabrics allow no light to penetrate through the blind. The only light you will see will be light coming from the edges of the fabric. Easy Green Store recommends that you install black out Energy Saving Blinds outside of the recess, using a back roll to reduce the light as much as possible.

Q. What are "controls"?
A. "Controls" is the name given to the string of beads that operate the blind. By pulling the controls, you can make the blind higher or lower, helping to prevent sunlight entering a room, or to keep heat inside of a room.

Q. What should I do if I need a very large / very small Energy Saving Blind?
A. Contact Us for any exceptionally large or small blinds. If you are unsure if the blind you want is too large or too small, use our online Blind order form, which will tell you to contact us if your blind doesn't meet our specifications. We can almost always work out a solution to your measurement problems over the telephone or by email.

Q. How long will it take to deliver my Energy Saving Blinds?
A. Energy Saving Blinds are all made to measure, and therefore take time to produce, so please expect to wait 10-15 working days for the blinds to be delivered to you. You can check the status of your order on our Order Tracking page. We will always contact you with changes to your delivery date, or if there is a problem with your order.

A. All green products are usually packed into recyclable cardboard boxes, with decomposable padding where necessary. Where we cannot use recyclable materials, Easy Green Store will try to minimise the amount of packaging to lower its impact on the environment.

Q. Can I recycle your packaging?
